The Perfect Paper Household

Upper middle-class life at the time of Mozart

An exhibition about upper middle-class life around 1780, with the "Augsburger Klebealbum", a minutely detailed "doll house” in book form at its core. 19 delicate paper tableaus, each featuring a different room, populated by cut out furniture, residents, servants and guests, complemented by 160 real life historical objects. The exhibition design quotes the visual specifics of the original album. Distorted proportions, misplaced objects and friendly figurines in unexpected places, are staged as a three dimensional "Klebealbum"/dollhouse – for visitors to walk into and explore (Curator: Regina Kaltenbrunner, Graphic Design: Cora Akdogan, Photos: Schloß Schönbrunn Kultur- und Betriebsges.m.b.H.)
